23rd November is the last day to enter the call for 131 air traffic controller positions at ENAIRE
ENAIRE, the company of the Fomento Group that manages air navigation in Spain, opened the registration period for 131 new air traffic controller positions on 5th November. Candidates can register until 23:59 (CET) of this Friday, 23rd November by registered mail to the address specified in the conditions or at empleo.enaire.es.

This is the third call to hire permanent air traffic controllers in two years. These new 131 air traffic controller positions, added to the 236 offered in 2016 and 2017, make a total of 367 positions in the last two years.
These new positions are proof of the effort made by the Ministry of Public Works through ENAIRE to equip the air traffic manager with the human resources required to fulfil, with guaranteed safety and efficiency, the growth of air traffic currently experienced in Spain.
Requirements of the call:
- Spanish citizens
- Foreign citizens that conform to any of the following cases may also take part in the call on equal terms:
- EU citizens and spouses of Spanish or EU citizens that are not legally separated and their descendants or the descendants of the spouse not legally separated under 21 years of age or over 21 if disabled
- Citizens included within the scope of the international treaties concluded by the EU and ratified by Spain in which the free movement of workers is applicable
- Foreign citizens legally residing in Spain
- Over 18 years of age and under 65
- Being in possession of a qualification granting access to university: Secondary education qualification or equivalent studies in accordance with the provisions established in Organic Law 8/2013, of 9 December
- General knowledge on Air Traffic Control
- Possessing the required psycho-physical and functional capability in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2015/340 of the Commission of 20 February 2015
- No criminal record
Training funding
Once the candidates pass the tests of the public call, those selected to cover an Air Traffic Controller position at ENAIRE must take the following steps:
1. Sign the future recruitment offer issued by ENAIRE
2. In the event of needing a loan to face the costs of the compulsory initial training course, go to the awarded entity [from the file ‘Contracting the support service to facilitate access to the air traffic controller positions offered by ENAIRE’], which will issue the funding’s cover certificate (up to a maximum of €70,000), prior submission of the Class 3 medical certification, which certifies the psycho-physical and functional capability required to perform the specific tasks of this profession
3. Accompany this certificate with the reimbursement commitment, duly signed, in the cases set forth in section 8 of this note. Its form will be provided according to the copy included in the contracting file tendered by ENAIRE
4. The candidates must take this certification to the bank they consider (Sabadell, Santander, Bankinter, or any other), and request-obtain the loan, without having to present any other guarantees
5. Attend and complete the initial training course at any of the schools certified for such purpose
6. Attend and complete the unit training at the facilities assigned to obtain the final qualification
7. Sign the permanent employment contract with ENAIRE
8. In the hypothetical case that the candidate does not pass the course and it is proven that he did not act in bad faith at any time, the entity awarded the service contracted by ENAIRE will assume the loan, without the candidate having to pay it.
The candidate will only have to reimburse the payments made for this service in the following seven cases:
a) When resigning from the initial training course, except on very serious grounds beyond the candidate's control.
b) Not obtaining the qualification from the school delivering the initial training due to not attending the course in conformance with the school's schedule.
c) Being expelled from the school delivering the initial training.
d) Only completing one of the three modules comprising the training course.
e) Only completing the training modules that qualify for towers and allow taking up paid employment at an air navigation service provider other than ENAIRE, provided that it occurs within a period of six years.
f) After completing the initial training, renouncing to attend or continue ENAIRE's unit training plan, except on very serious grounds beyond the candidate's control.
g) Not passing ENAIRE's unit training plan, provided that the candidate is hired as an air traffic controller at another international or national service provider and this occurs within a period of six years.

ENAIRE is the company belonging to the Public Works Department that handles air navigation in Spain. It renders aerodrome control services at 21 airports, including those with the most traffic.
All aircraft crossing the airspace assigned to our country receive communications, navigation and surveillance services using ENAIRE's modern network of facilities, consisting of:
5 control centres, 2 terminal area control centres, 237 radio aids providing en-route airport guidance and approach support, 54 en-route, approach and surface surveillance systems, 90 communications centres ( combining transmitter/receiver centres and control towers), 100 REDAN voice and data communication nodes for air navigation applications, 126 control tower posts, and 153 control centre posts.
In 2017, ENAIRE operated 1.99 million flights to and from four continents (Europe, America, Asia and Africa), transporting 284 million passengers.
