ENAIRE Foundation and PHotoESPAÑA are organising a night of screenings in Naves de Gamazo
The ENAIRE Foundation and PHotoESPAÑA are organising a night of outdoor screenings in the Naves de Gamazo with visual artist Javier Riera, as part of the "Activities for audiences" of PHotoESPAÑA SANTANDER 2021.
The work of Javier Riera, a finalist of the ENAIRE Foundation Photography Award in 2016, brings nature and architecture closer, offering spectators a visionary and dreamlike experience based on the poetic flow of the images shown. The Naves de Gamazo thus become the canvas on which to display a visual and symbolic proposition that differs from the usual mapping concepts.
This audiovisual show will also feature Paco Arráez, who will put the screening to music, in collaboration with the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria. This artist is currently experimenting with all types of sounds for his VRILnoise project, which he describes as "a noise full of soul and vitality".
The Naves de Gamazo, located in a prime setting in the Bay of Santander, opened its doors to the public on 1 July of this year. This modern cultural space, managed by the ENAIRE Foundation, is the permanent home for a selection of works from the ENAIRE Collection of Contemporary Art, which will rotate over time. The programme of the Naves de Gamazo also includes exhibits, guided tours, meetings with artists, workshops and other supplementary activities, all in an effort to bring the most diverse manifestations of contemporary art closer to the public, and, by combining history and innovation, to spread aeronautical culture and knowledge, which is another of the Foundation's institutional goals.
To date, almost 18,000 people have visited the inaugural exhibition of the Naves de Gamazo, Contemporary Territory:Various languages in the ENAIRE Collection, which will run through 31 October.
