ENAIRE presents an air traffic virtual reality experience at Fitur
ENAIRE, Spain's air navigation service provider, presents its investment in technology, innovation and sustainability for today's and tomorrow's air mobility at Fitur 2023. Specifically, this year's edition highlights ENAIRE's contribution to a virtual air traffic control experience through its own flight simulator called GammaSim.
Visitors will be able to simulate the work of air traffic controllers in an airport tower
This simulator has been designed completely by ENAIRE air traffic controllers and engineers. GammaSim significantly improves operational simulations, which are essential to increase safety, since it reproduces the three-dimensional scenarios of each control tower. As a result, visitors can feel what professionals experience when they manage flights from an airport tower.
In addition, visitors who come to ENAIRE's stand in Hall 10 of the International Tourism Fair, which will be held at the Ifema fairground in Madrid from 18 to 22 January, will be able to enjoy an immersive simulator experience thanks to virtual reality goggles.
Safety, efficiency and sustainability
ENAIRE will focus its space on conveying its commitment to the tourism sector and to the pillars of its strategic areas of security, efficiency and sustainability.
The stand will also have a display with information on drones. ENAIRE will be the provider of common information services and relay operational data between conventional air traffic service providers and U-Space operators.
Audiovisual information will also be provided on ENAIRE's leadership in the implementation of continuous descents by aircraft, which is part of ENAIRE's commitment to sustainability, as set out in its 2025 Flight Plan, and means less fuel, lower emissions and less noise.
This edition will also feature the ENAIRE Foundation, which will present the "Fantasías en el Prado" project by Alberto García Alix. This author, in addition to having received the ENAIRE Foundation's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022, is a National Photography Award winner and a great proponent of contemporary photography on an international scale.
ENAIRE is taking part in a joint stand with the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma), together with Aena, Adif, Renfe, Puertos del Estado and the National Geographic Information Centre.
The combined Mitma stand will have an interactive area with a contest with questions for the public, and prizes for the winners, intended to familiarise them with the work of ENAIRE and the other state-owned companies.

About ENAIRE
ENAIRE is the air navigation service provider in Spain.
As a company of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda, it provides en route control services for all flights and overflights from five control centres in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Gran Canaria and Palma, as well as approach services to every airport in the country.
In addition, 45 control towers receive ENAIRE's communication, navigation and surveillance services, and 21 airports, including the country's busiest, rely on its aerodrome control services.
ENAIRE is Europe's fourth largest air traffic manager and participates in the A6 Alliance, a coalition of air navigation providers responsible for over 80% of European air traffic, and which is seeking to modernise the air traffic management system. It is also a member of other international alliances promoting the Single European sky, such as SESAR Joint Undertaking, SESAR Deployment Manager, iTEC, CANSO and ICAO.
ENAIRE, as the agency appointed by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda to implement the U-space system in Spain, will be the provider of the Common Information Services (CIS), which are essential for administering U-space services to drones and Urban Air Mobility, in interaction with local air traffic control services, so that all types of aircraft can fly safely in the same airspace.
ENAIRE has received the highest score in Europe on the aviation safety key performance indicator. It has also been awarded the EFQM 500 Seal for its safe, efficient, innovative and sustainable management of air navigation services.
