The ENAIRE Foundation signs a partnership protocol with the Tablada Centenaria Association
The Managing Director of the ENAIRE Foundation, Margarita Asuar, and the Chairman of the Tablada Centenaria Association, José Luis de Augusto, have signed a general protocol of intent in Seville to carry out initiatives to promote and disseminate aerospace culture.
Thanks to this collaboration protocol, the two entities will be able to take part in common activities to raise awareness of aeronautical culture, heritage and legacy.
For the Managing Director of the ENAIRE Foundation, Margarita Asuar, “Tablada Centenaria characterises the values of aeronautics: a drive to succeed, generosity and trust. We didn't hesitate to accept being an honorary member and starting to collaborate to boost aeronautical culture from Seville, cradle of aviation”.
The Tablada Centenaria Association
Spearheaded by the Real Aeroclub de Sevilla and backed by the Real Aeroclub de España, the Tablada Centenaria Association has garnered the support of the Spanish Air Force and Space Command since its inception. Its primary goals are to promote aeronautical culture and history, and foster Tablada as an innovation hub for groundbreaking projects in aerospace innovation and development. This encompasses experimenting with and developing cutting-edge aerospace technologies and air mobility solutions, revitalising Tablada's airfield for a variety of aeronautical, sporting, cultural, and historical purposes, and establishing a training centre tailored to the latest aerospace technologies, including both manned and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The idea of launching the Tablada Centenaria Association, located in Seville, is driven by the interest, enthusiasm, expectations and the response of Seville's citizens to activities related to aeronautical history, culture and practices, following the events that were held to mark the centenary of the creation of the Tablada Air Base.
Specifically, it is being promoted by José Luis de Augusto, current chairman of the Tablada Centenaria Association (he is also the director of the Newwings adapted flight school, which he created) and by the Air Force colonel Carlos Rivero Hidalgo. The first honorary member is the Air and Space Force, and the second honorary member is the ENAIRE Foundation.
The ENAIRE Foundation
The ENAIRE Foundation is a cultural foundation of the state public sector that is attached to the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, due to its association with the national and non-profit public company ENAIRE, which has its own permanent legal personality and full capacity to act to fulfil its founding purposes, which include promoting the study, research, knowledge and dissemination of the economic, social, territorial and environmental aspects of air transport and its facilities, as well as its cultural and artistic facets.
Among its duties, the ENAIRE Foundation is tasked with sponsoring general interest programmes and entering into cooperation agreements and contracts with other entities, institutions, companies or individuals, both national and foreign, to achieve its own objectives and, in particular, with non-profit organisations that pursue purposes and objectives similar to its own, in order to seek out formulas to cooperate in the common aspects of their activity.
The Statutes provide for the possibility of entering into cooperation agreements and contracts with other institutions, companies or individuals to achieve the Foundation's goals, and in particular with non-profit organisations that pursue similar aims to those of the Foundation.
The Foundation seeks to promote research, knowledge and dissemination of the economic, social, territorial and environmental aspects of air transport and its facilities, as well as its cultural and artistic facets.
The activities to achieve these goals include awarding prizes and scholarships, organising exhibitions, congresses and any other type of legal activity with the aforementioned objective, as well as promoting artistic, cultural, scientific, technical, educational and environmental activities in general.
The Naves de Gamazo are the first permanent home of the ENAIRE Collection of Contemporary Art, an example of collaboration between government agencies that was made possible thanks to the partnership and joint efforts of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, the Government of Cantabria, through the Office for Culture, Tourism and Sport, and the Port Authority of Santander, which share the operating expenses of the centre in order to ensure the present and future viability of this cultural project.
The ENAIRE Foundation is implementing digital museum resources to boost the democratisation of art and make it accessible from anywhere in the world. These new museum resources are now available on the Foundation's website.

This protocol marks the start of a period of collaboration that will allow both entities to take part in common activities to raise awareness of aeronautical culture, heritage and legacy.
“Tablada Centenaria characterises the values of aeronautics: a drive to succeed, generosity, passion, responsibility and trust, values that perfectly represent José Luis de Augusto and Carlos Rivero, so we didn't hesitate to accept being an honorary member and starting to collaborate to boost aeronautical culture from Seville, cradle of aviation”, explained Margarita Asuar, Managing Director of the ENAIRE Foundation.
