Santano: “ENAIRE renews its support for the employment of people with disabilities, a goal that commits us both as a Government and as a country”
The Secretary of State for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, and President of ENAIRE, José Antonio Santano, today chaired a signing ceremony marking the awarding of ENAIRE’s grants to support associations that provide job placement services to people with disabilities.
Eleven companies have been approved and will implement their projects over the next twelve months
“Today, over €700,000 is being awarded to 11 organisations selected from 91 applications, an award that is not only financial but also a vote of confidence in their work, their ability to transform lives, and their commitment to equal opportunity”, said Santano. He emphasised that “through this support for organisations that ensure the social and employment integration of the most vulnerable, ENAIRE is doing its part to reduce inequality”. For the Secretary of State for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, “this goal commits us both as a Government and as a country”.
Meanwhile, ENAIRE’s CEO, Enrique Maurer, highlighted that “previous editions of these calls were able to place 900 people with disabilities, over 20% of them in the aerospace sector”.
In this new edition, we expect to place 340 people in one year thanks to the work, experience, and know-how of the eleven organisations selected”, Maurer stated.
All throughout Spain
On 11 April, the final decision was issued regarding the awarding of ENAIRE grants under the 2024 call for proposals to carry out activities aimed at promoting employment and job creation for people with disabilities, published on 17 October 2024, in which 91 organisations took part.
This call resulted in the granting of nearly 708,805 euros to 11 entities of public benefit that, after being selected using a competitive process, will be used to employ people with disabilities, in accordance with the objectives set out in the projects they submitted.
The winning projects in this call will be implemented through much of the country (Madrid, Valencia, Canary Islands, Andalusia, Catalonia, Basque Country and Galicia) and take into account individuals with different types of disabilities (mental, sensory, intellectual, physical, organic, others), who will be more employable thanks to these projects.
The entities that will benefit from this grant are:
- Envera, Association of Iberia Employees Who are Parents of Disabled Persons.
- Fundación Adecco.
- Valencia Federation of Associations of People with Physical and/or Organic Disability.
- Federation of Associations of People with Physical and/or Organic Disability of the province of Alicante (COCEMFE Alicante).
- Spanish Confederation of People with Physical and Organic Disability (COCEMFE).
- Aceesca, Support Association for People with Intellectual Diversity.
- Lantegi Batuak Foundation.
- Avante 3
- Carmen Pardo-Valvarce Foundation.
- Amicos Association.
- Provincial Confederation of People with Physical and Organic Disability of Castellón.
Between the two previous calls for grants (2019 and 2021) and the current one, ENAIRE has allocated a total of €2.1 million to promoting the labour integration of people with disabilities. In particular, the selection process considered job creation in the aeronautical sector, the financial soundness and experience of the applicant organisations, and their track record in supporting the employment of people with disabilities.
These grants help provide the means and resources that specialised organisations need to support the development of skills that improve people’s chances of finding work. This, in turn, will undoubtedly enhance the autonomy, independence, quality of life, and social and professional integration of people with disabilities.
