ENAIRE's Canary Islands Control Centre managed 29,970 flights in July
International flights, on the other hand, saw a decrease of 9.2%, with a total of 12,642 flights managed.
ENAIRE, the air navigation manager in Spain, closed out the month of July with 29,970 flights managed by the Canary Islands Control Centre. This is an increase of 0.7% compared to the same period in 2018.
Domestic traffic increased by 5.8%, with 13,788 flights. There was a considerable increase in the number of overflights (flights passing through our airspace that neither take off from nor land at an airport in the Canary Islands), which rose by 26.6% and totalled 3,540 flights.
International flights, on the other hand, saw a decrease of 9.2%, with a total of 12,642 flights managed.

ENAIRE's Canary Islands Control Centre manages air traffic services in a geographical region with a surface area of one and a half million square kilometres, most of it oceanic, where the Canary Islands and part of Western Sahara are located. It is the gateway to Latin America across the Atlantic.
ENAIRE network total
In July 2019, ENAIRE managed a total of 220,719 flights, 2% more than in the same month last year. In addition, the growth in domestic traffic increased by 5.4%, to 41,285 flights. Overflights went up by 6% (2,608 more than in 2018). However, international flights decreased by 0.3% from 133,739 to 133,376.
Cumulative from January to July
ENAIRE has managed 1,238,633 flights throughout Spain this year, 4% more than in the same period in 2018.
The Canary Islands Control Centre has managed 207,816 flights in the first seven months, an increase of 3.1%.

ENAIRE is the company belonging to the Public Works Department that provides air navigation services in Spain. It renders aerodrome control services at 21 airports, including the busiest in terms of air traffic, plus en-route and approach control, from five control centres: Barcelona, Madrid, Gran Canaria, Palma and Seville.
