ENAIRE and the ICAO sign a collaboration agreement to develop the Air Navigation Services Management Programme
ENAIRE and the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the 40th ICAO General Assembly, which is being held this week in Montreal, to jointly develop and promote the Professional Programme in Air Navigation Services Management.
The signing event featured the acting Minister of Works, José Luis Ábalos, ENAIRE's Managing Director, Ángel Luis Arias, and the Secretary General of the ICAO, Dr Fang Liu. Also attending the event were members of EUROCONTROL, CANSO, the European Commission, IATA and national authorities, such as DGAC, AESA and AEMET.
Through this collaboration agreement, ENAIRE gains Corporate Member status in the ICAO's TRAINAIR PLUS Programme, which allows it, alongside only six other relevant organisations in the civil aviation sector, to contribute to different training activities in the field of Air Navigation Services.
The ICAO endorses this Professional Programme from ENAIRE to train future managers and officials of air navigation companies
In addition, this agreement enhances and fosters the development of the Corporate and Innovation Campus that ENAIRE is implementing as a strategic pillar to modernise and transform the organisation, in accordance with the provisions of its Strategic Plan, the 2020 Flight Plan.
Air Navigation Services Management Programme
The ICAO's recognition of the Professional Course in Air Navigation Services Management makes it a unique and innovative training programme and the first professional course on air navigation, on either a national or international level.
The endorsement of the ICAO, a United Nations agency, of this Professional Programme ensures that its teaching content and methodologies will be fully consistent with the regulations and recommendations of International Civil Aviation.
The first course will begin in mid-October in Madrid, both in classroom and online sessions, with the worldwide organisation representing the interests of air navigation service providers (CANSO), the Institute for Air Navigation Services (IANS) and the Autonomous University of Madrid all taking part.
In addition, the Professional Programme in Air Navigation Services is part of the training activities of ENAIRE's Corporate Campus, which provides a training tool to improve the managerial and executive skills of its professionals.
This recognition makes the Professional Course the only training programme of its kind internationally
TRAINAIR PLUS Programme
Through its membership in this Programme, ENAIRE joins the world's most prestigious training centres network, making ENAIRE's Corporate and Innovation Campus an international benchmark.
ENAIRE will thus contribute to the ICAO's various strategic initiatives, such as the Global Air Navigation Plan, the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals and No Country Left Behind.
