This year, the ENAIRE Foundation is again taking part in ARCO as a way to promote its Photography Award

The ENAIRE Foundation, a cultural organisation linked to ENAIRE, will once again take part in the 2020 ARCOmadrid International Fair, which is taking place in the Spanish capital from 26 February to 1 March.

The rules for the 2020 Photography Award will be presented at stand 7H13, along with a small sample of seven images from last year's winning photographers:

- Montserrat Soto (2019 Achievement Award).

- Jorge Fuembuena (2019 First Photography Award).

- Antonio Pérez Río (2019 Second Photography Award).

- Mara León (2019 Third Photography Award).

- Verónica Vicente (2019 Young Photography Award).

For the past fifteen years, the ENAIRE Foundation has been strongly committed to photography as a premiere vehicle for showcasing art. This field currently holds a prominent place in ENAIRE's Collection of Contemporary Art. The Foundation is also heavily involved in cultural patronage, promoting and encouraging this means of visual creation through its annual Photography Awards. Since the first edition in 2005, more than a thousand professionals in this speciality have

submitted entries for the awards, which have become one of the leading platforms for promoting artists in our country. In addition, the ENAIRE Foundation has enhanced its support for photography with two additional awards. The Achievement Award, which acknowledges the creative maturity and career of renowned artists in the field of photography, and the Young Photography Award, which seeks to help train and encourage up-and-coming artists.

Rules of the Photography Award

The Photography Award is open to photographers who reside in Spain or who have exhibited their works in our country in the last 5 years. It recognises original works, either artistic or of free subject matter, that have not received any prizes in any competitions. Every author may submit up to three photographs. The awarded works will form part of the ENAIRE Contemporary Art Collection. The works selected by the jury will be displayed at a show on the ENAIRE Foundation Photography Award, which will be held starting 3 June 2020 at the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid and mark the inaugural exhibition of the PHotoESPAÑA Festival. A catalogue of this exhibition will also be published.

12,000 euros will be awarded to the first prize, 8,000 euros to the second and 5,000 euros to the third.

The photographs must be sent to two addresses. For hand delivery of the works, at Corzón S.L. Calle Alameda 11 in Madrid (91 429 39 93), Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 13:30 and from 16:30 to 20:00. and in hand and through courier services at Corzón S.L. Calle Sevilla, 8, Polígono Industrial San Roque. Arganda del Rey, (Madrid) (91 870 37 95/636 00 56), Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00.

The work of the ENAIRE Foundation

The ENAIRE Foundation is a cultural institution connected to ENAIRE, the company of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda that manages air navigation in Spain.

Its objectives include the management, conservation and dissemination of ENAIRE's Collection of Contemporary Art, comprising almost 1,200 works from different disciplines (painting, sculpture, photography, multimedia art, etc.) by renowned Spanish and Latin American artists, ranging from the second half of the

20th century to the present day, artists like Barceló, Tàpies, Chillida, Broto, Genovés, Arroyo, Úrculo, García-Alix, Daniel Canogar and Chema Madoz.

From 2020-2021, the ENAIRE Foundation will open two art centres, which will serve as the permanent home of the ENAIRE Collection of Contemporary Art. Las Naves de Gamazo, in Santander, will open its doors to the public in late 2020, and La Arqueria, in Madrid, will open in 2021. These two centres will share collections, projects and activities in order to initiate a dialogue between both centres, present the ENAIRE Collection from different exhibitory viewpoints, and enhance the range of cultural products offered by the two cities.

In addition, each year the Foundation organises a complete programme of activities aimed at promoting and disseminating aeronautical culture, through the awarding of the ENAIRE Foundation Prizes (the only aeronautical awards given in Spain), the issuing of publications and organisation of exhibitions and aeronautical conferences.
