The ENAIRE Foundation awards grants for 168,000 euros to preserve Spain's historical aeronautical heritage
For the fifth time, the ENAIRE Foundation has presented the grants it awards annually to preserve Spain's historical aeronautical heritage, grants that are valued at 168,000 euros.
The recipient entities were Fundación Infante de Orleans, Fundació Parc Aeronàutic de Catalunya, Fundación Aérea de la Comunidad Valenciana and Asociación Deportiva Jacob
On 12 June 2025, the Secretary of State for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, José Antonio Santano Clavero, as the president of the ENAIRE Foundation, awarded by way of a final decision the grants intended to preserve Spain's aeronautical historical heritage.
The grants in this 2025 edition were awarded, based on the scores received by each applicant, to the following four entities and for the following amounts:
- Fundación Infante de Orleans: 97,000 euros.
- Fundació Parc Aeronàutic de Catalunya: 54,000 euros.
- Fundación Aérea de la Comunidad Valenciana: 12,000 euros.
- Asociación Deportiva Jacob 52: 5,000 euros
Through these nationwide grants, the ENAIRE Foundation supports the preservation of Spain's aeronautical heritage and helps disseminate aeronautical culture by assisting in the conservation of historic, life-size aircraft for the public's enjoyment and knowledge.
The rules for these grants state that the recipients must be non-profit entities with a tax residence in Spain that have a collection of at least four life-size historic aircraft. The aircraft can be in use, on the ground, undergoing repairs or overhauls, or static aircraft on display.
To receive these grants, the winning organisations must make their collection of historic aircraft accessible to the public for educational or informative purposes, either in person or through a dedicated website.

About ENAIRE Foundation
Is a cultural institution of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility that, in addition to managing, preserving and exhibiting the ENAIRE Collection of Contemporary Art, engages in a comprehensive annual programme of activities that focus on aeronautical art and culture. Notably, it is one of the institutions that currently provides the most support to photography through its annual prizes - which have become a benchmark for professional photographers - and by hosting exhibits.
It is the only foundation in Spain that combines the two seemingly disparate themes of art and aeronautical culture, bringing them together by undertaking a programme of activities that promote the study, research, knowledge and dissemination of aeronautical culture, integrating history and modernity to raise awareness of the world of aviation in our country.
The Naves de Gamazo are the first permanent home of the ENAIRE Collection of Contemporary Art, an example of collaboration between government agencies that was made possible thanks to the partnership and joint efforts of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, the Government of Cantabria, through the Office for Culture, Tourism and Sport, and the Port Authority of Santander, which share the operating expenses of the centre in order to ensure the present and future viability of this cultural project.
ENAIRE Foundation is implementing digital museum resources to boost the democratisation of art and make it accessible from anywhere in the world. These new museum resources are now available on the Foundation's website.
