ENAIRE operates 812,000 flights in the first 5 months of the year
In the first five months of 2019, ENAIRE has already operated 812,000 flights, 36,000 more than from January to May 2018 (a 4.7% increase). This means an average of 7,200 additional flights per month.

The daily maximum for May was reached on Friday 31 (coinciding with the Champions League Final in Madrid on 1 June) with 6,786 flights.
All types of flights continue to increase. Overflights (flights that do not depart from or arrive at a Spanish airport), at 179,918, increased by 6.7%; national flights (172,023) increased by 4.8% and international flights (460,391, representing 57% of the total) rose by 3.8%.
Flights have also increased at all ENAIRE control centres: Seville (7.9%, with 165,214 flights), Barcelona (6.3%, with 351,135), Palma (5.1%, with 98,252), Madrid (4.0%, with 469,499) and Canary Islands (3.9%, with 150,266).
Data for May
In May, ENAIRE operated 193,660 flights, 2.8% more than the same month in 2018. All types of flights continue to increase: international (116,152) by 2.1%; national (37,646) by 3.2%, and overflights (39,862) by 4.7%.
The daily record for May was reached on Friday 31 with 6,786 flights.May has already seen 68 months of consistent air traffic increase, i.e. over five and a half years of successive growth in flight numbers.
All ENAIRE control centres have experienced an increase in air traffic in May: Seville (36,583 flights), 5.4%; Barcelona (92,473 flights), 3.7%; Madrid (104,094), 2.7%; Canary Islands (27,350), 1.7%, and Palma (34,154), 1.5%.
