Environmental sustainability

Environmental sustainability is a priority for ENAIRE, which integrates environmental management into the development of its activities and service provision in accordance with the UNE-ISO 14001 standard, a certification it has held since 2005.

Sustainable development at a global level requires a balance between the stakeholders involved: our natural environment, society’s expectations and the need for economic development.

ENAIRE aims to minimise the impact that air transport can have on the environment, rolling out various lines of action in the air navigation field to optimise air routes and the design and operation of facilities through implemented processes involving the environmental evaluation of plans and projects and environmental control.

The linchpin of our environmental sustainability involves driving the efficiency of the Spanish airspace route network, cutting distances flown for air carriers and powering fuel savings and fewer greenhouse gas emissions to help fight climate change.
