Looking ahead, the intention is to position ENAIRE in initiatives related to the provision of satellite-based air navigation services, surveillance, and communications.
ENAIRE strengthens its participation in international tendering and commercial bids for products and services associated with the provision of air traffic control, as well as the operation and engineering of CNS/ATM systems (communications, navigation and surveillance / air traffic management). The following stand out:
ENAIRE has been awarded five contracts by ESSP SAS to provide various services within the framework of the operation and service provision of EGNOS for the period 2022–2032.
Joint tender for the provision of the Internet Protocol (IP)-based communications service for air traffic management applications (NewPENS), which replaces PENS. The experience gained with PENS has made it possible to identify different areas for improvement, aimed at strengthening the use of PENS as the ground-to-ground communications network between air navigation service providers in Europe.
NewPENS is expected to increase its use by offering its services as the largest network in Europe for the ATM (air traffic management) community, supported by a reliable, secure, and cost-effective ground-to-ground communications infrastructure (voice and data).
System Wide Information Management (SWIM) consists of the development of services aimed at information exchange. SWIM comprises the standards, infrastructure, and governance necessary to enable information management and exchange between the relevant operational stakeholders through interoperable services.
