• International flights increased by around 5.6%
• On 14 June, a new record was set, registering 8,231 flights in Spain

ENAIRE, Spain’s national air navigation service provider, handled more than 238,000 flights (238,400) in June 2026, up 4.5% on the same month in the record year of 2025.
International flights (144,081) increased by 5.6% in June compared to the same month last year; domestic flights (43,540), by 4.7%; and overflights (50,779), not departing from or arriving at a Spanish airport, by 1.4%.
On 14 June, ENAIRE managed a new flight record with 8,231 flights, which exceeded the 2025 record in Spain in high season: 8,103 flights on July 5 and August 9, 2025. This increase in air traffic in Spain in June 2026 compared with 2025 was 2.9 percentage points higher than the average European increase (1.6%). Compared with 2019, the pre-pandemic reference year, Spain outperformed the European average by 14.6 percentage points (ENAIRE: up 16.0%; Europe: up 1.4%).
By air traffic control centre, Seville handled 53,061 flights in June (5.6% more than in the same month of 2025); Palma, 49,042 (+5.6%); Barcelona, 122,873 (+4.6%); Madrid, 121,514 (+4.4%) and the Canary Islands, 33,888 (+3.0%).

Looking at year-to-date figures, the result of the great work carried out by its various groups and professionals, ENAIRE handled more than 1.2 million flights (1,212,912) in the first half of the year, nearly 4% more (+3.9%) than in the same period of 2025.
From January to June, international flights (699,155) rose by 4.5%; overflights (282,439) by 4.2%; and domestic flights (231,318) by 1.7%.
Year to date, by control centre, Seville handled 288,916 flights (up 6.3% on the same period in 2025); Barcelona, 567,402 (+4.1%); Madrid, 671,188 (+3.9%); Palma, 169,724 (+3.7%); and the Canary Islands, 216,242 (+1.3%).
Cumulative traffic growth in Spain was 2.7 percentage points above the European average compared with 2025 (1.2%), and 19.4 points above the same period in 2019 (ENAIRE up +19.2%; Europe down 0.2%).
