In response to reports in some Andalusian media concerning air navigation:
- The official data published by EUROCONTROL are available on its website (link)
- From 1 January to 20 August 2026, air traffic at Seville Area Control Centre increased by 6% (more than 382,000 flights handled), while delays attributable to air traffic control fell by 29.8%.
- In other words, Seville is making a significant contribution to the reduction in delays attributable to air traffic control across Spain (down 20.8% nationwide), despite being one of the country’s busiest centres in terms of traffic handled.
- Official EUROCONTROL data show that claims that Spain causes more delays than France are incorrect.
- Based on year-to-date data, Seville ACC is nowhere near the top of the ranking: it ranks 15th among European ACCs (left-hand list) Seville Airport, meanwhile, ranks 77th (right-hand list).
- The measures in ENAIRE’s Summer Plan are being implemented effectively to provide a safe, efficient and sustainable service capable of meeting demand.
- Seville ACC has increased its controller workforce for three consecutive years.
